Making your personal electronic game call: snow goose caller is simple and cheap.
Make your snow goose electronic game call , using recycled car parts and you should not spend more than $50.00 Use two cassette tape decks taken off dismantled cars cost $25.00. If you are lucky, your cost may be $0.00. These cassette tape players have to be stand-alone units with power, volume and ideally tone control. Auto reverse is a plus. 2 batteries taken off alarm systems cost $0.00. Even if after 3 years, these batteries are not safe anymore for an alarm system, they are still good for use in your electronic game caller. 2 used loud speakers, flute type used on paging systems, should not cost more than $20.00 apiece new. About 150 feet of speaker wire cost 0$ if you know someone that sells sound systems. Maybe you already have the wire in your garage. You do not absolutely have to use speaker wire, other types of wire will do. Get a defective alarm system board from your alarm system installer and use it as a battery charger. Most of the time, even if the board is of no use for alarm, the battery charger still works and your cost will likely be 0$. You probably already have an in car adapter/ battery charger for cellular phone or walkman or other accessories, make sure that it puts out at least 12 volt dc. A car adapter/ battery charger is handy if you go hunting for a few days where you don't have access to electricity and want to replenish your batteries. The rest is simple wire connections. Use solderless terminals and a crimping tool to secure the wire connections. If you do not have the crimping tool handy, a normal pair of pliers will do the job for that application. If you prefer, use solder. To connect the speakers to the cassette player, use RCA or Phone plugs like so
You will need the male part (plug) connected on the wire to the speaker and the female part (jack) , on the wire to the cassette player.
Find a solid bag, preferably camouflage, size about 8'X10'X9 inch high and everything will fit in, except the speakers.
Here is your snow goose electronic caller
Buy a cassette recording of the sounds snow geese make. If you do not find it around your area,
get it from here.
Since you have two tape decks, you need another cassette. Edit the one you just got and extract the snow goose feeder call or any other call and make a cassette of it. When using you two tape decks simultaneously, the snow goose feeder call will play the sound of snow geese feeding in your decoys and the other deck will play the other sounds, like the flock and the come back call.
You prefer not to bother making your electronic game call, then, get an
