Greater snow geese spring 2006
Environment Canada has confirmed the Greater snow geese spring 2006 hunt. Spring season begins on April 1st and closes May 31st in southern Quebec, and from May 1 to June 30, 2006, in the north. 150,000 geese.As of April 1st there was already 150,000 greater snow geese at Baie-du Fèvre. The geese do not asualy stay there for very long. If you plan a hunt in that area, it is now a good time to go. Just a few geese where already in the Montmagny area. The major flock is expected to be in the Montmagny area from around the April 15th. If your hunt is not planned already, contact the different outfitters , they may still have good dates available. Regulations Regulations are essentially the same as last year. Last year harvest was 34,600 greater snow geese. You have a very good chance of having a successful hunt. Limits are the same, 20 geese per day with a possession limit of 60. Your fall 2005 Federal migratory hunting permit is still good for spring 2006. You will need to buy your Quebec provincial small game permit for 2006. You cannot hunt at Isle-aux-Grues , neither Cap-Tourmente in spring.
